I was educated in the Netherlands, and moved to Keele University in the UK in 2003 after a fellowship at Cornell University in the States. My research interest is to developed new instrumentation to address challenging ecological and environmental questions, and his work on parasitic ants and insect pheromones has attracted significant media interest.
My interest in teaching have led me to introduce a range of teaching methods to help students understand and enjoy Chemistry. These include the use of videos, modes, clicker technology, project and problem-based learning.
